Chattanooga-based Aaron Cowan questions Southern paradigms connected to the male values of driving trucks, hunting and shooting guns. He sees himself at war against his culture, camouflaging and hiding to survive. Why poetry and beauty cannot co-exist with mischief and danger? Cowan's art is a hymn to escape from any imposed and outdated social paradigma; to be true to the self; and to love with calloused hands.
